  • Fiske Crowell, FAIA, LEED AP

    Principal, Sasaki Boston

    Over the past 40 years, Fiske has been involved in the programming and design of more than 100 projects on college and university campuses. His background encompasses educational research and instructional facilities, including the programming, planning, and design of science buildings, classroom facilities, student life programs, and graduate schools.

    Fiske’s design and planning initiatives derive from understanding the opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and creative solutions which emerge from the integration of these key components of campus learning communities.

    Fiske earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of architecture from Yale University. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the Politecnico di Milano and a visiting scholar at the American Academy in Rome. Elected to honorary membership in the National Institute for Architectural Education, he remains active with the Council for International Exchange of Scholars as a peer review specialist for the Fulbright Scholar program. Fiske is an adjunct professor and member of the Advisory Council at the University of Hawaii School of Architecture. He is active with the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, and other professional organizations. He has participated on AIA chapter awards juries nationwide and in 2003 was elected a fellow of the AIA.

  • Carla Ceruzzi, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

    Associate Principal, Sasaki Boston

    Carla is passionate about design that serves a diverse audience. As an architect with significant experience in institutional projects, she builds consensus around solutions that are deeply rooted in the unique aspirations, programs, and context of each project. Carla guides clients through the design and construction process by not only meeting their needs but also adhering to real-world budgets.

    Her portfolio spans academic, athletics and recreation, residential, student life, performing arts, and library spaces, enabling her to also bring a rich diversity of experience to space-planning projects and master plans. Carla works in close collaboration with landscape architects and planners to develop architectural designs that are fully integrated into their surrounding landscapes and urban environments.

    Carla holds a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College. In addition to her professional work, Carla has taught design at Northeastern University and Boston Architectural College

  • Ian Dickenson, AIA

    Director, Sasaki Los Angeles

    Ian is an associate principal architect responsible for heading a diverse array of firm initiatives, including leading design teams, project and firm strategy, creative direction, and carrying out research agendas.

    Ian has delivered numerous complex, award-winning projects on time and within budget, including large mixed-use developments, civic and institutional work, campus buildings and master planning, affordable housing, and community led advocacy and policy projects. This diverse range of pursuits is bound by a process that engages the deeper underlying context of a project, focused on how broader societal and cultural influences can be translated to inform the built environment.

    Ian is an active member of the academic, visual arts, and design communities, having contributed to numerous exhibitions, publications, and events. He has taught design studio at the University of Southern California, Washington University in St. Louis, and Arizona State University, and has served as an invited design critic for a number of additional academic institutions. He has lectured internationally; contributed to publications, panels, and research journals for institutions such as the Getty Research Institute, the Arid Lands Institute, and the Milken Institute; and is currently a Visiting Artist at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

  • Meredith McCarthy, AIA, MCPPO

    Chair at Large, Sasaki Board of Directors

    Meredith is a licensed architect with 15 years of professional experience. Working in both commercial and civic practice groups, she excels at taking projects from initial programming through design and construction.

    Meredith enjoys the problem-solving challenges that design presents, as well as the client relationships that emerge from meeting those challenges together. She’s a storyteller at heart and seeks to find the narrative and vision in every project she takes on. Meredith often pushes ideas forward, working to develop concepts into implementable strategies and designs, always staying true to the overarching goals of the client and the project. She thrives in collaborative and creative environments, guiding teams through the design process while always looking to learn from her experiences and her teammates.

    Having had great mentors herself, Meredith is passionate about opening doors and creating opportunities for people to grow and learn. As a Board Member for the Hideo Sasaki Foundation, Meredith leads the various youth design education programs offered throughout the year. She understands the benefits and strengths that diverse voices bring to design and is focused on making more equitable and inclusive pathways to help those voices be heard.
