Architectural putting apparatus Design competition
What would a putter look like if it didn’t look like a putter? You tell us. AIA Tampa Bay challenges YOU to design and build a functioning putter using anything you like, other than typical golf equipment (e.g. shaft, head, and grip) for a chance to win a brand new Odyssey putter!
Qualifications:
The Architectural Putting Apparatus (APA) must be able to be used left-handed as well as right-handed.
The APA shall not be constructed of any typical golf club parts or pieces used in their typical way. This includes, but is not limited to shafts, heads, and grips.
The submissions will be tested and evaluated by APA Trained Professionals, and the winning design will be selected based on the following criteria and point schedule:
- 35 points – APA originality: ingenuity in material and form.
- 15 points – APA Performance: how well does it actually function in accuracy and distance control?
There is a $15 entry fee. Register at www.aiatampabay.com, click on the event calendar and registration is through the May 3rd calendar date.
All entries must be received by April 25th, 2012 at AIA Tampa Bay, 200 N. Tampa St., Ste. 100, downtown Tampa, FL 33602
The winning APA will be used in the Putting Competition at the AIA Tampa Bay’s Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament at Westchase Country Club on May 3rd, 2012.

last year's 2011 tournament
AIA Tampa Bay's first annual Cinco de Mayo Golf Tournament was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out to play, our sponsors and volunteers!
It was a beautiful day away from the office out on the links. There was barely a cloud in the sky as our 18 teams started their rounds at Westchase Golf Club. After the round, with putting contests, longest drive, closest to pin all mixed in, it was time for the banquet fiesta. All enjoyed the festive Mexican dinner and were ready for the big raffle prizes such as free rounds at Westchase, a golf weekend at Hammock Beach Resort and a 37" LCD TV!
Our tournament winners Marc Betts, Benjamin Raposa, Ron Nienhuis and Joel Kock were presented one of a kind trophies made by Stack Design. What a perfect way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! We sure hope you can make it next year!!
