WRT is seeking TWO senior-level Planner/Project Managers for their Coral Gables office. One will be responsible for community planning and the other for campus planning. Both individuals will also be responsible for strategic planning, project management and practice-building.

These individuals will:

> Direct and work on a wide variety of planning projects
> Design and execute public involvement processes
> Represent the office through client, public and stakeholder meetings and maintain strong client relationships
> Perform project management responsibilities including project planning, supervision of staff, work activities, and financial management
> Pursue project leads, prepare proposals and attend interviews to win new work
> Work with Principals to formulate and execute business development strategies to diversify client and project base

Position requires a combination of the following:

> Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or related field from an accredited college or university; Master’s a plus. Architecture or Urban Design degree (in addition to Planning) is a plus

Director of Preconstruction

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Director of Preconstruction provides a high-level of direction and leadership for our Pre-construction Department, which consists of 4 areas: CADD, Electrical Design, Systems Design, and Constructability/Coordination. This individual is responsible for allocating the department’s resources and ensures the overall successful delivery of preconstruction designs, reviews, and coordination for all Power Design projects. The Director develops and executes initiatives for the department based upon the company’s overall strategic objectives and goals.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Oversee division managers and team members in design decisions and development of solutions
  • Work closely with Executive Management and Operations on key strategic initiatives for all aspects of the design and coordination process of company projects.
  • Work directly with division managers to coordinate all departmental tasks based on pre-construction schedules and deadlines, budgets, resource allocation, and design review for constructability and feasibility.
  • Successfully manage budget and financial operations for the department, including direct P & L responsibilities; assist with project-based budget and cost decisions
  • Oversee all department personnel; assist in the development and training of staff members, forecast staffing needs, and hold team accountable to expectations and goals.
  • Identify, evaluate and allocate proper resources to improve delivery processes and procedures that support our field staff and other departments
  • Attend customer meetings when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Engineering or Architecture field
  • At least 10 years of related management experience; P & L and budget experience
  • High-level problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and Accubid (BIM and Revit a plus)
  • Commercial or multi-family project experience preferred
  • Maintain professionalism and demonstrate strong prioritizing skills
