How is your IAQ/LEED IQ
Hosted by PSI, this program, led by Tim Caughey CIH, Chief Scientist, will cover ways to enhance your LEED Certification by addressing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues in new construction design. This program qualifies for One Hour LU (HSW).

Join us at the AIA Tampa Bay Chapter Office on Wednesday, November 14th from 11:45 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. The cost for lunch and the seminar is free for Members and $10 for Non-Members. RSVP required online or by calling 813-229-3411. Space is limited to the first 25.


Urban Charette Workshop
Earn up to 6 CEU by Designing
OUR region

The Urban Charette and the AIA TB: RUDC will host the second workshop in a community forum series entitled “Designing our Region: Tampa Medium (M) scale” The upcoming discussions will focus on Medium scale elements critical to the design of a livable community with regard to housing, public realm and environmental amenities for the Tampa Bay Region. Additional focus will be given to the area of sustainability as it relates to these elements and the built environment. Participants will have access to a mini-trade show highlighting green products. Lunch, refreshments and materials will be provided.

The forum is this Saturday, November 10, 2007, from 9:00 am – 4 pm, at the USF Alumni Center. Register today to take advantage of early registration, $20 professionals and $10 for students. (After Nov. 05, $25 for professionals and $15 for students). Corporate group / firm rates for 8 or more are available starting at $150.00. This is an excellent opportunity to be an “architectural advocate” in our community by bringing friends and family and introducing them to the role design plays in shaping our community.

Enter the AIA Tampa Bay 2nd Annual AIA Tampa Bay Thumbnail (Napkin) Sketch Juried Competition and win a free AIA Tampa Bay membership! Capture a great monument, idea or moment on the fly? Draw a cool diagram? Write a mini-manifesto? Submit your best thumbnail sketches - on a napkin! Winner receives a 1-year free AIA Tampa Bay Membership (local dues = $60 or $150).

The Competition is open to all AIA Members, Associates, Allied members, Architects, Interns, and Students in the AIA Tampa Bay territory. Entries due to the Chapter Office on Friday, November 30th at 5:00 p.m. See full submittal requirements.

All Napkin Competition entries will be displayed at the AIA Tampa Bay 2007 Holiday Open House and the winning sketches will be revealed that evening. Engineered Wood Floors
Karhrs International, Inc presents the AIA approved CE program, Engineered Wood Floors in Multi-Family and Commercial Projects. The program explains the desirable attributes, manufacturing techniques, performance characteristics and sustainability aspects of engineered wood flooring. It explores design options, installation methods as well as design possibilities and cost considerations.

The program will take place at Bast Floors & Staircases, 8506 Sunstate Street, Tampa, FL 33634 on Friday, December 7th. Attendees can choose from two sessions, 10am - 11am or 1p - 2p.
